The Cerulean Expanse is a location in Sea of Stars. It is a desert maze that is traversed room-by-room in any cardinal or ordinal direction. Heading west at any point of the main section of the maze brings the player back to the starting entrance room.

Lost Ones Hamlet[]
The room before the Lost Ones Hamlet.
The Probe must be owned in order to reach the Lost Ones Hamlet, though using it to interact with buried objects is not a requirement.
The Probe automatically detects buried objects in the sands of the Cerulean Expanse that can be interacted with to uncover them. Each room leading to the Lost Ones Hamlet contains a buried compass that shows the next correct direction to head. The directions to reach the hamlet are east, northeast, southeast, north, northwest, southwest, south, then east.
Oasis[]
The hidden oasis of the Cerulean Expanse.
The oasis hidden within the Cerulean Expanse can be accessed at any point in the story, even without receiving the instructions beforehand. After defeating the Dweller of Dread, an NPC appears in Repine's inn, cryptically dropping the initials of the directions to the oasis without any context.

Throne of The Queen That Was[]
The room before the Throne of The Queen That Was.
The Cerulean Expanse room leading to the Throne of The Queen That Was can be accessed at any point in the story, even without receiving the instructions beforehand; however, the actual throne room cannot be accessed until the Speedball Network Station is activated at Es'tristae's Lookout.
After defeating the Dweller of Dread, speaking to Seraï at any campsite will grant the player Joce's Belt Buckle, an artifact that unlocks a new campfire story for Teaks, "The Cerulean Expedition." The story must be parsed in order to understand the correct set of directions that allows the player to reach the Throne of The Queen That Was.
- Brochu's team's directions were northeast, southeast, south, then northwest, where the first two directions felt "correct."
- Elbi's team's directions were southwest, south, southwest, then east, where only the final direction felt "correct."
- Joce's team's directions were north, east, northeast, then south, where only the third direction felt "correct."
Combined, the directions to reach the throne room are northeast, southeast, northeast, then east.

Main Story[]
After Seraï returns to her home in Repine, she asks Cedric to fill her in on what happened while she was gone. It mentions that the surveyal of the Cerulean Expanse has continued, and that faint energy, which is concordant with the old records about the "dead of a forgotten race," was detected. These people were rumored to have constructed the speedball network, and might know a way to bring it back online. Cedric recommends to follow a survey probe through the Cerulean Expanse to investigate the signal. Seraï takes a calibrated probe with her, and the party head to the Expanse. The probe can help by digging out compasses, which leads them to the Lost Ones Hamlet.
Later, after the defeat of the Dweller of Dread, Seraï can be spoken to, which prompts her to mention another potential threat to her people, The Queen That Was. She explains that they have been searching the Cerulean Expanse for a long time, but never found her. After B'st asks if they could follow any lead, she hands over Joce's Belt Buckle, which a drone retrieved from one of the search parties. The artifact can then be handed to Teaks, producing an old adventure log called "The Cerulean Expedition." The story can be analyzed in order to figure out the proper route through the Cerulean Expanse to reach the speedball leading to The Queen That Was. They travel to the speedball, taking the speedball station to her throne.
