The Elder Mist is a character in Sea of Stars. He is a guiding figure for the characters of Sea of Stars, prophesying about their potential. He is one of three seers, one who is able to read the Mists of Time.
The Elder Mist is encountered as a required boss at the Elder Mist Trials. He is encountered again as an optional boss after completing the 5 Solstice Shrines and then traveling through the portal in the Mountain Trail cave near the summit.

Elder Mist
Seer
A prophet of origins unknown whose duty is to guide the children of the solstice as they come of age.
To earn their title, Solstice Warriors must undergo The Elder Mist Trials and learn how to "use magic without using magic". The Elder mist [sic] then provides each of them with their personalized prophecy before sending them out into the world.

The Elder Mist foretold that, in order to find his light and achieve his full potential, he will first need to "stare at the night inside of him".
Valere[]
The Elder Mist sees great potential in her, believing she might one day be the one to "create paths on water".
Garl[]
The Elder Mist hesitantly approves of him as a travel companion for Zale and Valere, on the promise that he would be mindful of his limitations when it came to combat.
There was also something peculiar in the stars about him, as it seemed his heart just might be warm enough to "soothe a long tormented soul".

Boss Fights[]
Overview[]
The Elder Mist is comprised of his body and sword as separate parts. His sword will perform Counter Slash if the Elder Mist's main body is attacked. This counterattack can be prevented by depleting the sword's HP, disabling it for 3 turns before it automatically returns with 61.1% of its max health. It returns with 55 HP in the first fight and 489 HP in the second fight.
First Fight[]
The first boss fight against the Elder Mist is fought with Zale, Valere, and Garl, as the available party members. His first move of the battle is always a regular attack. Garl's Hurl cannot be used against the Elder Mist or his sword.
Second Fight[]
The second boss fight against the Elder Mist is fought with Zale and Valere as the only available party members. Unlike his first fight, the Elder Mist has Haste naturally applied to his timer, and he integrates two new moves into his moveset, Thunder and Torblado. His first move of the battle is always Torblado.
