"INTRUDER ALERT
ENTITIES FROM ANOTHER WORLD HAVE BREACHED THE COMPOUND
COMMENCING ELIMINATION"
― Guardian
The Guardian is a character in Sea of Stars. It is encountered as a boss in the Underground Base.
Profile[]
Appearance[]
The Guardian is a floating robot which has two arms, a vertical beam of light, and two blades on its shoulders. The left arm is equipped with claws that can be used like a grappling hook, and the right arm has a blaster, both of which are used in the Guardian's attacks.
Personality[]
The Guardian doesn't have a personality, as it is designed to eliminate trespassers. While it can speak, its sentences are simply basic instructions and feedback a computer would give.
Boss Fight[]
Overview[]
The Guardian is fought with Zale, Valere, Seraï, and Resh'an as the available party members. Its first move of the battle is always Taser Grip.
A Drone that is summoned to the battle assists the Guardian by performing regular attacks, Power Tackle, and Hex Shield. Power Tackle can only be performed if there are 2 Drones on the battlefield, killing one of the Drones in the process, while Hex Shield gives one of its allies a shield that protects its target for 250 HP.
Skills[]
Regular Attack[]
Timer | Target | Strikes |
---|---|---|
1-3 | 1 party member | 1 |
The Guardian uses its laser gun to hit a single party member.
Call Drones[]
Threshold | Summon | Amount |
---|---|---|
534 HP | Drone | 2 |
934 HP |
The Guardian calls upon 2 Drones to the battlefield. Only a maximum of 2 Drones can be present, so if there is already 1 Drone on the battlefield during the second instance of Call Drones, then the second instance of Call Drones will only produce 1 Drone instead of the standard amount of 2. Any Drones that are on the battlefield when the Guardian is defeated are automatically destroyed.
Taser Grip[]
Locks | Timer | Target | Strikes |
---|---|---|---|
2 | All party members | 1 each | |
The Guardian uses its clawed arm to attach cords and send a shock to all party members from right-to-left.
Power Shot[]
Locks | Timer | Target | Strikes |
---|---|---|---|
4-lock permutation, allowing for repetition, of | 1 | 1 party member | 1 |
The Guardian can only use Power Shot if there are any Drones on the battlefield. The Guardian merges its blaster with the Drone(s) to fire a charged shot at a single party member. However, if all Drones are defeated when the timer reaches 0, then the move will fail, and the Guardian will perform Taser Grip instead.
Main Story[]
Shortly after arriving in Seraï's world, the party meets the Guardian in the Underground Base after opening a gate. The Guardian flies out, and seeing the party as a threat, attacks. It gets defeated, and the party exits the Underground Base.

"Displayed XP" is the data the game presents upon completion of a battle, and this value is derived from the internal XP multiplied by 2 then multiplied by the party level (internal XP * 2 * party level = displayed XP). If the player levels up, then the data presented in the "Displayed XP" columns of this chart becomes inaccurate, as the true displayed value is the sum of the internal XP multiplied among multiple party levels.

"For its first attack, notice how the claw arm has an initial spin (to show off its flexibility) before whipping out. I thought it might be fun to give it a unique melee attack that could be multi-targeted or used at range, if you guys want."
