Relics[]
Version 1.0.46981 introduced Tactician's Mettle, while the "Dawn of Equinox" game update introduced Tourist's Provision, Volitional Spirit, Signifying Glass, Chef's Knife, and Mark of the Speedrunner. Respective save files that were already in progress during those updates had Tactician's Mettle, Tourist's Provision, Volitional Spirit, and Signifying Glass automatically integrated into their inventories.
The 6 relics that are available from the start of the game without any save file progress are Amulet of Storytelling, Tourist's Provision, Volitional Spirit, Signifying Glass, Sequent Flare, and Tactician's Mettle. Prior to the "Dawn of Equinox" game update, the Amulet of Storytelling, Sequent Flare, and Tactician's Mettle were instead obtained from Headmaster Moraine in Mooncradle by default during story progression.
Relics can be turned into "global relics," being unlocked permanently for all new save files. The moment a new save file is created, it reads the data of all existing save files and turns applicable relics into global relics, which persist into all future save files, even if the player erases their existing save files after that point. Global relics do not apply retroactively to existing save files, only new save files. All 22 relics can become global relics with the "Dawn of Equinox" game update, though prior to that update, only 9 relics could become global relics: Guardian Aura, Truestrike Pendant, Tome of Knowledge, Gold Tooth, Sixth Sense, Adamant Shard, Artful Gambit, Double Edge, and Dubious Dare.
With the "Dawn of Equinox" game update, all relics, including Mark of the Speedrunner, can be unlocked simultaneously by inputting the Konami Code into the "Press [start]" portion of the title screen and then creating a new save file. If a new save file is not created, then the changes are not saved. A special sound effect plays upon the final button press of the Konami Code if it was inputted properly.
The "Dawn of Equinox" game update introduced difficulty presets of "Story," "Adventure," and "Challenge," which have their own unique default toggle choices of On/Off for each relic in the game. Save files created prior to the "Dawn of Equinox" update have relics that align with the "Adventure" difficulty preset.
