Boss Fight[]
Overview[]
Leaf Monster is fought with Zale, Valere, Garl, Seraï, and Resh'an as the available party members.
Leaf Monster is initially invulnerable due to its leaf coating; however, attacking it will push it further back towards the wall. When it contacts the wall, it will use Throw Leaves, attacking a party member but leaving itself vulnerable to attack for a couple of turns. When it regains its coating, it will reset its position, and the process must be repeated until it is defeated. As it reaches critical health, it will start to flash and will explode upon defeat.
Leaf Monster has Haste naturally applied to its timer while it has its leaf coating. The Haste modifier, and any locks, disappear when it uses the skill Throw Leaves, and the Haste modifier returns when the leaves return.

Receive 6 strikes, 2 turns pass after the 6 strikes |
Up to 2 party members | 2 different times |
Leaf Monster only uses Throw Leaves when it has been knocked back 6 times, hitting the back of the room. It sends its leaf coating to a single party member, damaging them and rendering itself vulnerable for 2 turns. No timer appears for the 2-turn wait period, so it cannot be delayed with Disorient, Item Roulette, or The Great Eagle. Afterwards, the leaves will return, striking one of the party members as it returns to Leaf Monster, and restoring its invulnerability until the move is used again. This move always has priority over others and automatically activates when Leaf Monster is pushed back far enough.
Garl's Hurl does not count as a strike that would cause Leaf Monster to be knocked back, and the move does not displace it; due to potentially unintended behavior, using Hurl actually increases the number of strikes required to push Leaf Monster to the back of the room.
Similarly due to a potential oversight, if Resh'an's regular attack is timed too perfectly, and the two vial halves collide simultaneously, then the game only registers it as almost 2 strikes instead of exactly 2 strikes. Because of this, it could take a total of 7 strikes instead of 6 strikes to push Leaf Monster to the back of the room. The timing of the vial halves colliding into Leaf Monster needs to be spaced out to receive the maximum benefit of 2 strikes.
