Malkomud is a character in Sea of Stars. He is a Molekin wizard fought at the Wind Tunnel Mines, alongside his pet salamander, Rockie, in a formation called Malkomount.

Main Story[]
Malkomud had trouble being understood by the other Molekin, since he had magical powers and lacked skill in digging naturally. As a result, he grew disconnected, and the others became highly disrespectful and rude towards him. This falling out led to Malkomud occupying the Wind Tunnel Mines with his friend Rockie. There, he threatened to block the air paths with Bushtroos, which would cause The Sleeper to wake.
Fearing the devastation this would cause, the Molekin people send Zale and Valere to save them. Garl befriends Malkomud, and after convincing him not to wake The Sleeper and telling him he could remain in the fort he had made, peace is restored, with a warning to the villagers to be kinder. Much later, Garl requests Malkomud's help in terraforming the volcano on Basalt Island, to transform it into Kiln Mountain.
Trivia[]
- Malkomud's shovel-pogoing ability, "Shovel Might," is an homage to Shovel Knight's signature gameplay ability, the Shovel Drop.
