Malkomud and Salamander, also known as Malkomount when combined, are a boss in Sea of Stars. They are encountered in the Wind Tunnel Mines.

Overview[]
Malkomud and the Salamander are fought with Valere, Zale, and Garl as the available party members. Malkomud's first move of the first phase is always Shovel Might, while the Salamander's first move of the first phase is always Salamanger. The first phase ends when either Malkomud or the Salamander's initial health is depleted.
During the second phase, Malkomud will mount the Salamander and use an array of new attacks. Malkomount's first move of the second phase is always Geobress. This version of Geobress is unique in that it has a 1-turn counter; subsequent uses default back to 2 turns, assuming the attack was not prevented by breaking its locks.

The Salamander eats a party member and spit them out at another party member, inflicting damage to both targets. If two party members are knocked out when Salamanger's timer reaches 0, then the move will fail, and the Salamander will perform a regular attack instead.
