This page outlines which actions may result in a block. Blocks are used to protect the wiki from vandalism, inappropriate usernames, or otherwise disruptive behavior. Blocked users can still read the wiki, but are revoked the ability to contribute edits.
Length of Block[]
The length of a block depends on the severity of the disruptive action. This will be judged on a case-by-base basis, mainly by the metric of the intent to harm the wiki.
For example, a user who publicly announces that their only motivation is to vandalize the wiki will receive a long block, potentially indefinite. However, a user who has made a mixture of constructive edits along with non-constructive edits will first be notified of the issue, to give them a chance to improve; if non-constructive edits continue, they will receive a short, temporary block. Repeated offenses will result in longer blocks.
Vandalism[]
Non-constructive edits or unhelpful edits may result in a temporary block. A user who consistently vandalizes the wiki, or makes it clear they are not here to positively contribute, will receive a long or indefinite block.
Inappropriate Usernames[]
Usernames containing inappropriate language, such as profanity, will be indefinitely blocked.
There may be other cases where usernames are of an inappropriate nature that aren't related to profanity. Depending on the severity of the username, these usernames may also be blocked. Usernames of a low severity will not immediately be blocked; they will be issued a notification so they have a chance to change their username.
Contesting a Block[]
If a user feels they have been unfairly blocked, they may post a comment on their message wall, defending their case. An admin unrelated to the block will review it, and if appropriate, may potentially overturn it. However, if an admin is unable to review it, or if the block was not overturned and the user still feels that they have been blocked unfairly, they may contact Fandom staff to report this issue.
