"Whatever you may need, I take no part in any conflict."
― Watchmaker
The Watchmaker is a character in Sea of Stars. She is a genius inventor who is very busy[2] and occupies herself in her work full-time.[3] Her inventions consist of magic parts.[3] She is the creator of Wheels, a popular game within the Sea of Stars universe.[4] In the "Throes of the Watchmaker" DLC planned to be released for Sea of Stars, the party meets her and helps her with a problem.[2]
Profile[]
Appearance[]
The Watchmaker is a woman with muted purple hair, blue-gray eyes, and round glasses. She wears a white blouse, a long burgundy skirt, and a long dusty blue coat, which she wears with one sleeve dangling at the side. She ties her hair back with a large blue ribbon and wears a large pink crystal on a chain around her neck and a belt with multiple pocket watches hanging from it. She uses a cane shaped like an antique key.

The Watchmaker is a neutral party in the conflict between Resh'an and Aephorul. She speaks few words and shows little interest in the outside world, preferring to focus on her work. However, she is willing to pause her work to play Wheels against a worthy opponent. Along with her creating the Clockwork Abomination to fight in Dweller's Fall Arena, this suggests she enjoys competition.
Main Story[]
Hundreds of years before the events of the game, the Watchmaker made a deal with Aephorul to design the Clockwork Castle in return for her own workshop where she could be left to her own devices.
During the events of the game, the Watchmaker can be found in Clockwork Castle, at the very top floor. She can only be reached via the elevator. When the party asks her for the key they need to reach the Dweller of Strife, she tells them she does not take part in any conflict. Then the clocks in the room chime, and the key falls to the ground. She does not stop them from taking the key.
The party can speak to the Watchmaker after defeating the Dweller of Strife to learn she is developing a self-deploying Wheels table. After interacting with the games-loving cyborg at Repine's inn, the player can buy the table from the Watchmaker for 250 gold, which can be given to the cyborg to unlock the ability to play Wheels in Repine. Once the player has defeated the 9 other Wheels champions, they can challenge the Watchmaker, the final champion of Wheels. Upon defeat in a Champion match, she gives the player a Flimsy Hammer.
One of the Watchmaker's creations, the Clockwork Abomination, can be fought as a mini-boss in the champion match of the Silver Rank at Dweller's Fall Arena.
